Volunteering Opportunities
Community Members and Internationals: Join Us!
Are you interested in volunteering for a particular program not listed below? Use the CCIS Programs menu at the top of this page to find that program’s webpage. Contact the program chair by email, using the link near the bottom of that page. Or if you don’t have a program in mind, please contact our Membership Outreach chair.
Internationals are often interested in volunteering in the following programs:
- International Spouse Coffee: help organize our weekly gathering for all international spouses and partners.
- Join the Global Chefs in preparing a free meal for members of the Stanford community.
- The Loan Closet offers second-hand and new household items for internationals to borrow while at Stanford for a nominal fee.
CCIS Website
We are looking for a webmaster to further develop this new WordPress version of the CCIS website, adding new features and capabilities.
Community members are often interested in volunteering in the following programs:
- International Spouse Coffee: help internationals learn about programs, events and helpful resources in the Bay Area.
- English in Action: Meet weekly with an international to practice casual English conversation and help them learn about American culture.
- Hospitality: Meet several times to share the California experience, everyday lifestyle and culture with an international.
- The Loan Closet offers second-hand and new household items for internationals to borrow while at Stanford for a nominal fee.
We ask all community members to join CCIS as members and renew their membership annually. There is no fee, and no donation is required! (International graduate students, postdocs, visiting scholars, and their families at Stanford University are not required to be members of CCIS.)
To become a member, or update or renew your membership, fill in the online CCIS Membership application. (You will have the option of donating to CCIS if you so desire.)
