English Classes program

ENGLISH CLASSES
All English Classes are open to Stanford international students, postdoctoral scholars, and their family members with intermediate to advanced English proficiency. The classes are taught by experienced volunteers.

For Internationals

Students should register online with each teacher. Some classes are held at Bechtel International Center and some are on Zoom. The classes are free and students may take more than one class. Please arrange child care for babies.

Begining students cannot be accommodated in these classes. Beginning students should contact one or more of these free Adult Education English programs:

For CCIS Volunteers

Several of the current English teachers are certified ESL teachers, but that is not a necessary requirement in order to teach at the Bechtel International Center. However, a prospective teacher should have experience in the teaching or training field and be comfortable leading a class.

Our teachers must also be sensitive to the challenges and culture differences our international students face.
